About the play
Oh, Mary! is an uproariously dark comedy about a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination. Unrequited yearning, alcoholism, and suppressed desires abound in this 80-minute one-act play that finally examines the forgotten life and dreams of Mrs. Lincoln, through the lens of an idiot (playwright Cole Escola).
Following its critically acclaimed success and Olivier Award win for Best Entertainment or Comedy Play, Oh, Mary! has now extended through to 2027. Jinkx Monsoon returns to reprise their iconic original role for a strictly limited six-week engagement until 26 September. This is then followed by Lolly Adefope who takes up the role of Mary for the first time from 28 September – 5 December 2026.
